Organizing Tips For Home

Getting rid of clutter is what every homeowner is struggling with. Here we are with some brilliant tips to finally get organized. JustClose’s editors have selected top organizing tools to help you get equipped.

Cords

No doubt that cords are giving you hard times at home and in the office. Use binder clips to keep their ends on the table. No more cables slipping behind the desk. Make sure to run across this genius organizing tip to make your life easier.

Papers

When coming to papers and mail, you have to deal with every day; you need a really good and nice way to keep them organized. Use pretty-looking clipboards on the wall to store your papers. If you do not work and you spend most of your time in the kitchen, you can also put a few clipboards into a box and keep it close to you. That will become your command center keeping whatever you need to plan your week.

Suitcases

Old suitcases are great for remodeling and using as storage. Some larger ones can serve as a cute coffee table for your living room or a nightstand. And the smaller ones can be used for charging stations and as make-up storage. Hang them on the wall, and they will become bathroom vanities or a home medicine chest.

Ladder

If you have many books, don’t hurry to throw them away or donate, when moving into a smaller home.  Use decorative ladders as makeshift bookshelves or use one to hang newspaper or even clothes on. If you have a “painter” small one, just hang his/her drawings on the ladder and change them periodically not to put everything on the walls.

Drawer dividers

Large drawers are great for storing all in one. But try to put all your paperwork or makeup accessories or small parts of clothes in one large drawer, and you’ll have to spend hours on finding something you need and trying to keep it clean and organized. Here you just need a few pieces of cardboard to divide your drawer and keep every small thing in their places.

Corner shelves

If you work with small spaces, you’ll definitely like this tip! A magazine holder can serve as a corner shelf. Just stick it to the wall and use for keeping keys, phone or whatever you want. Or just replace your wooden shelves to the corner as it is shown in the image to make most of your space. You can even make one yourself. Just google DIY corner shelves and get the best model for your room.

Books

Besides a ladder, there is another trick for your books for small spaces. Make shallow shelves and store books face-out on it. This will look interesting, easy-to-find and keep your books organized. Using vertical high storage for books is another solution to this issue.

Jewelry

For many ladies, this might be the most important and most annoying part of home-organizing. Eliminate messy piles when each piece of jewelry has its individual hook. Take a pegboard and frame it! Paint it soft to give it look like wall art and hang all your jewelry on it. There is another, a bit funny, but still creative way to organize your earrings and necklaces: use an old cheese grater as an earrings holder or take a spare hanger out of your closet and use it as a hanger for necklaces.

Toys

The last point, which I personally face every day with my little kid, is about toys. If you have an infant, you’ll agree that keeping toys organized and the room clean and tidy is the most difficult housework. First, make sure to donate the toys that are not used or your baby doesn’t like anymore. Choose all the small toys that your child likes most and create a ‘favorites’ bag for them. For larger toys use plastic storage boxes and hide them behind curtains.
